TYA was a great band. They didn't care about big commercial success but they loved the music. Each member was a great player but Alvin is an all time great as is Leo on bass.

Freddy King was one of the first concerts I ever saw. It was at the Ash Grove in LA and I was 13. It was incredible... we also gave one of his sidemen Hollywood Fats a ride to the gig cause he was too young to drive and my older brother had his license. so we got good seats. The Ash Grove was a really cool venue, wooden benches and tables and you could roll a joint and light up which was a big deal in those days.
